Hamilton-Schades Wins Silver at the FIA UK Print Awards for Mars Whey Protein Shake Label

  • The award-winning Mars Whey Protein Shake label featured a vibrant eight-colour design with tactile varnish to deliver a premium look and feel.

    • Hamilton-Schades is proud to announce that we have been awarded Silver in the ‘Labels – Printed on Film Substrates’ category at the prestigious Flexographic Industry Association (FIA) UK Print Awards for our work on the Mars Whey Protein Shake label.

    The award recognises the quality, innovation and technical expertise behind one of our leading label printing projects, reinforcing our commitment to delivering exceptional results for customers across the food and beverage sector.

    Award-Winning Label Production

    Creating a label that stands out on the shelf requires the perfect combination of design, materials and print technology, particularly when it’s for one of the world’s largest Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies.

    For the Mars Whey Protein Shake label, our team used a carefully selected range of equipment and materials to achieve an outstanding finish.

    To achieve an award-winning result, we used:

    • An MPS EFA430 press to create a vibrant eight-colour design with tactile varnish, delivering a premium look and feel.
    • Sandon 1200 × 3.0 Process anilox rollers for exceptional ink transfer and print consistency.
    • Pulse LED dual-cure inks, providing vibrant colour while reducing energy consumption to support more sustainable production.
    • UPM Raflatac PP White substrate, chosen for its durability and high-quality finish.
    • Fujifilm Flenex water-wash plates, contributing to a more environmentally conscious platemaking process.
    • Premium finishing solutions from 3M and ABG, ensuring the labels perform just as well in real-world applications as they do visually.

      • Together, these technologies enabled us to produce a label that combines striking shelf appeal with outstanding durability and print performance.
